Afton

Founded in 1886 Afton, Oklahoma boasts several examples of classic Route 66 roadside architecture. Explore nostalgic favorites such as a former D-X gas station, now beautifully restored as the Afton Station and serving as a visitor center for travelers. Take a trek on one of two stretches of the nine-foot-wide original Mother Road known as the Ribbon Road. Anglers and water sports enthusiasts find plenty of splash-filled fun at nearby Grand Lake o' the Cherokees. Afton is also home to Darryl Starbird's National Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame and fun family farm experiences.
