Blackwell

Blackwell was settled in the late 1800s as part of the Cherokee Strip Land Run of Northern Oklahoma, and the town remains a testament to its history. At the Top of Oklahoma Historical Society Museum, browse farm tools, artwork and even artifacts from the Land Run of 1893. The museum is located in the Electric Park Pavilion that was built in 1912 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Relax at the open greens of the Blackwell Municipal Golf Course and play a game of 18 holes before heading to Bob’s Grill, a Blackwell establishment that has been serving homemade meals for half a century. Then, take a self-guided tour of the Top of Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail. Find a piece of history to take home with you at one of Blackwell’s antique shops next for a beautiful keepsake that will begin to make this town’s past part of your own.
