El Reno

The historic city of El Reno, Oklahoma lies at the crossroads of Route 66 and the Chisholm Trail, now known as U.S. Highway 81. Ride an authentic rail trolley through the historic downtown area, stop to shop the antique and specialty stores or savor one of El Reno's famous onion burgers. The burgers are so well-known that they've spawned the annual El Reno Burger Days Festival where the world's largest onion burger is cooked and served to the crowd. Fort Reno is four miles west of the city, and hosts the Tombstone Tales each fall, when Buffalo Soldiers, Indian scouts and World War II German prisoners of war share their stories.
