Named after President Ulysses S. Grant, Grant County is located in north-central Oklahoma. Early trails in the county included Black Dog and the Chisholm Trail. In the late 1800s, railroads were constructed in the area and connected the towns of the county. In Wakita, the Twister Museum contains memorabilia from the 1995 film Twister, parts of which were filmed in the town.
