Morning – We begin today at Bedre Chocolate Factory in Pauls Valley to satisfy our sweet tooth. On weekdays we can watch these gourmet chocolates being manufactured before sampling the gourmet chocolate that Bedre produces. Allow 45 minutes for this stop. Don’t miss trying the chocolate covered potato chips. Next, we arrive at the Toy & Action Figure Museum which is the creation of Pauls Valley native Kevin Stark, action figure designer and artist. The museum houses Kevin’s life collection of action figurines and is home to the Oklahoma Cartoonists Collection, which features Oklahoma artists and writers in the comics field, such as Chester Gould, the creator of Dick Tracy, as well as Jack and Carole Bender, who currently work on Alley Oop. Allow 45 minutes for this stop.
Afternoon - Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before visiting the Santa Fe Depot Museum in downtown Pauls Valley. The depot is a stop on the AMTRAK Heartland Flyer train route that runs from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth each day. Inside the museum we find railroad memorabilia and exhibits on local history. The park surrounding the depot contains a 1902 Santa Fe steam engine and caboose. Allow 45 minutes for this stop. We continue on to Arbuckle Wilderness in Davis where we will sit back and enjoy a drive through this exotic animal park where wild exotic animals roam freely in habitats similar to their own. Allow 1 ½ hours for this attraction.
Evening – We will enjoy dinner in Davis before settling into our hotel for the evening.
Morning – This morning we will enjoy a mid-morning treat at Original Fried Pies where we find an array of fried pies including chocolate, peach, apple, coconut, lemon, cherry, and many more delicious flavors. Allow 30 minutes for this stop. Next, we arrive at the Chickasaw Cultural Center where a short introductory film in a recreated 18th century Council House begins our journey through the history and culture of the Chickasaw Nation. Experience a Stomp Dance with holograms and a glowing campfire that helps recreate this sacred ceremony. See an array of artifacts and visit the village before enjoying lunch at the museum. Allow 2 ½ hours for this attraction.
Afternoon – This afternoon we will enjoy a drive through Oklahoma’s oldest national park, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur which was founded in 1902 to protect the mineral and freshwater springs of the area. Allow 1 hour for this stop.
Evening – Our overnight and evening meal will be in Ardmore.
Morning – Today we begin with a tour of the Greater Southwest Historical Museum located inside the Ardmore National Guard Armory that dates back to 1936 and WPA projects. Exhibits at the museum range from pioneer life, to the railroad, and the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma. A special tribute is paid to those that have served in all branches of military from the American Revolution to present at their Military Memorial Museum. Allow 1 hour for this stop. Just south of Ardmore is Lake Murray State Park the largest and first state park in Oklahoma. We will enjoy the magnificent view over the lake and the exhibits of Tucker Tower Nature Center. Tucker Tower was originally intended to be a summer home of Gov. Murray but due to lack of funds in the 1930s was never completed. Allow 45 minutes for this stop.
Afternoon – Enjoy lunch at Lake Murray’s Lodge before continuing on to WinStar World Casino in Thackerville which is one of the largest casinos in the world. We arrive to find over 500,000 sq ft of gaming space with pavilions themed after the great cities of the world. Rome, Beijing, London, Paris, Cairo, Vienna, and Madrid are featured through the art, décor, and fountains in these separate areas of the casino. Enjoy free time gaming or relax with a spa treatment at Spa Habitat at WinStar World Casino Hotel.
Evening – Enjoy dinner at one of the many dining venues within WinStar World Casino before settling into the WinStar World Casino Hotel for the night.
