Dirty sheets smelled like insect spray. Thick black mold in the shower. Window unit air conditioner drips onto the bed. Air conditioner is so loud you can't hear the neighbors TV. A real bummer staying at the Cherokee Inn. Just wanted to have a nice vacation and take the wife to see the Salt Plains.

I completely agree with the previous post. The rooms are way overpriced. I stayed in a hotel near downtown Chicago for less than this roach coach inn. The room had crickets and a huge spider in addition to dead bugs and trash in the bathroom vanity area. It was gross. The manager was rude, grilling us about why we were so late even though we told him we would be late when making the reservation. I don't know if he was mad about us being late or not, but he gave away the nonsmoking room that we reserved and stuck us in a smoking room that stunk. It was a bad experience all around and I feel like we were ripped off. I would rather make the 45 minute drive to Enid than stay here again.

I called on prices here and all beds are the same price and for the price I would rather stay in a cabin at Salt Plains State park for the same price! I get a discount there so I pay less than for a

Cherokee Inn is not fancy, but is the closest accommodations to the Salt Plains NWR. We stayed in a non-smoking room with one full bed. The room was very clean, though it could stand an update. The room also had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. While we didn't hear a peep out of our neighbors through the walls, we could hear everything that went on outside in the parking lot through the door. Not that a lot went on out there, mainly car doors or someone walking by. The property is right off of Highway 58, so there's a little road noise, too. We were there on a Sunday night, and the only other visitors were driving work trucks with labels such as geophysical services and hydraulic specialties. The property is pet friendly so we took our dog with us. He really enjoyed resident canine Lou.
