We attended a conference here this this and the staff did a fantastic job with our over 200 people. The food, lodging and atmosphere was amazing. I can't wait to go back for a weekend getaway !

From Wanda on 11/05/16

Beds were seldom made Windows seals were not cleaned Beautiful facility but service was not up to par The bathroom for the guests or public were Dirty with unmen bible stuff on the wall

From Gary Fortelney on 09/25/16

Cabins and lodge are very nice. Restaurant has issue with waiters/waitresses sitting in the back and talking and on phones instead of attending to customers.

From Staff on 09/12/16

Beth, please call the park office at 918-772-2046 and they'll be happy to give you more details. Thank you for using!

From Beth on 09/10/16

Hi, was wondering if a quick, small wedding ceremony of about 10 people was allowed in the park. Thanks.

From jeanie on 08/05/16

We stayed in the bunkhouse and the lakehouse. The bunkhouse needs a very good cleaning. it was extremely dirty that socks turned black when walking around with no shoes. 'There were ants in 1 room and the kitchen area. Housekeeping did not clean behind dressers or sofa cushions. Make sure to put plenty of big DO NOT ENTER, PRIVATE PARTY signs on the bunkhouse doors. The other guests at the hotel will roam around to look at it or just to pass through. The signs we put up at least helped a little bit. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. The layout of the bunkhouse is good for a large group.

From Staff on 08/01/16

Krista, according to the Sequoyah State Park staff, campers are welcome to use the pool and splash pad as long as the lodge is at 70 percent occupancy or less. So before you swim, please check with the lodge manager for that information. If you have any questions, call the state park at 918-772-2046. Thank you for using!

From krista singleton on 07/30/16

Can someone tell me if the pool is available to RV campers or just lodge guests? Thanks

From JaNa on 07/28/16

Betsy Kirby - my family camps here at Sequoyah every summer, and we absolutely love it. However, I will admit that the Park Staff has a long long way to go in the area of customer service. The staff at the Lodge are fantastic, but the staff at the front park office are horrible. It's best to make your reservation online by going to Don't let a few old soreheads keep you from visiting this beautiful site.

From Brenda Etheridge on 07/15/16

Beautiful location. Handling of reservations and front desk is horrible. Been here with family from Maryland, Texas, Arkansas, Michigan and Oklahoma. We want to be so proud of this beautiful area but have usually been very disappointed. We always have trouble with reservations and the front desk. This has been our 9th time here and will more than likely not be back.

From Staff on 07/05/16

Betsy, it's possible to make reservations up to 11 months in advance, so reserved spots can fill up fast, especially during holiday weekends. If it's less than 5 days before you want to visit, however, there are always plenty of first come, first serve sites available. In that case, you can call the park office at 918-772-2046 to see how full the campgrounds are before visiting. Thank you for using!

From Betsy Kirby on 07/03/16

May have to cancel my reservation. While checking on the regulations I notice that you can only cancel 10 days prior to arrival but you can book 5 days before arrival. So for me it doesn't make sense since there is no 10 day window to cancel. Another thing why is it impossible to make a reservation through the office on site. If you decide to visit the park a couple of days before you cannot make a reservation.

From Staff on 06/30/16

Chris, great question! We just updated the price list, and you can see that here: Golf clubs are available for rent at $12 per set. Thank you for using!

From Chris on 06/28/16

Are the golf rates still the current rates? I notice the document on is titled 2012. Also what is the fee for renting clubs?

From owner on 06/14/16

My husband and young grandson were pulling our trailer and my younger grandson and I were pulling our boat. I had a blowout on boat trailer. Ruined tire and rim. Very nice folks stopped to direct traffic and help me til my husband could get back. He parked his trailer at campsite and ran back to help me. Had to call wrecker to pull boat to campsite where we were greeted by the most hateful female host using profanity and tried to hit my husband with golf cart. All of this is due to the fact that he parked in the wrong spot. He offered to pay to spots but they said they were reserved. We understand that but could not move boat til purchased new rim and tire..anyway do not have an emergency problem. These people do not have any compassion for

From John Franks on 07/18/15

Are there any 110v or 220v outlets available for charging an Electric Vehicle?

From Chris on 07/17/15

We stayed at the group cabins for our church youth group visit. Little bit of a critter problem in a couple cabins, but the a/c worked great and there was lots of room to hang out or play. We visited Paradise Cove for some paddle boating and the guy there was really nice. All in all I think the kids enjoyed the week being away from the distractions of life and just enjoying themselves through games and worship.

From MaryLynn Lufkin on 06/17/15

Hello Leslie. I am very sorry you didn't enjoy your ride. I will visit with the guides about their phones. We currently don't have any males working for us, just girls, but I will talk with them. Half of our trails are underwater from the flooding, so we are riding on everything that isn't under water. From the time you leave the stables and take the hayride to the new staging area, go on the ride, and return, it takes just about one hour. We are doing the best we can under the current flood crisis we are going thru. I hope you visit again when the water recedes. Again, sorry for your disappointment.

From owner on 06/17/15

Leslie, we will be sure to let the stables know of your unhappy experience. Thank you for using

From Leslie Baldwin on 06/16/15

Skip the horseback riding! It was the most lame experience EVER and quite expensive at $25 a person for less than an hour! The guide did not even introduce himself and spent most of the time on his cell phone. I was so disappointed and had a much better conversation with my horse than any human that worked there.

From owner on 06/11/15

From owner on 04/27/15

Kim, we're glad you had a good time and we hope you will come back and camp with us again.

From Kim on 04/26/15

Well, I finally got the number correctly and found that there was plenty of RV space still to be had at the Cherokee part of the park. It was just me and a friend and I was pulling a camper. I don't know how to back a camper into a site and there were no pull-throughs, so I was a little worried about that. But when I got there, Fred, the camp host, said he would do it for me! So I held his cigar while he backed it right where I wanted it. The next morning, I got up early and ran a 5K in Tahlequah, then when I came back I saw the guys in the camp next to us had caught some massive catfish!! I took a picture of them and visited with those nice people for a while. Later that afternoon, they gave us some of their catfish! I just had a GREAT time! It was a nice, clean, safe area with lots of birds! I saw blue birds, scissortail flycatchers, killdeer with a nest of eggs and some bright orange birds! So relaxing. I would love to return.

From Aiko on 04/26/15

From owner on 03/23/15

I have forwarded your comment to Sequoyah Lodge manager Thank you.

From JuneBug on 03/23/15

I went with a group of 4 couples this past weekend for a cabin weekend. We all 4 had a cabin, and booked 2 months in advance and asked for cabins close together/next to each other. That didn't happen, but the cabins are all so close to each other anyways so it wasn't a big deal. The cabins looked nice and were very clean. However, I have one complaint, which the park can't do much about other than really renovating the cabins..... But you can hear EVERY WORD AND SOUND that comes from your neighbor's cabin. They are set up like duplexes and four-plexes, with a door connecting that locks from both sides. But the walls are not one bit soundproof and the noise also comes straight through under the door. Not cool in my opinion, I don't like my neighbors being able to hear my every word and move. But, Overall, it is a really nice park with great views and a good nature center. The Lodge looks very nice with the recent renovations.

From owner on 03/17/15

Elaine, you would need to call Sequoyah's Park Office at 918-772-2046 to reserve a site in Cherokee. Thank you.

Dee, That was taken care of as soon as it was brought to our attention. We use the most effective method of dealing with this - heat treatment. Please call (918)772-2545 if you would like more information on the steps taken. Thank you for your question and concern!

From owner on 03/10/15

Thank you for your comment, Matt. You did not mention if you stayed at Sequoyah Lodge or enjoyed RV or tent camping, but we are happy that you had a good time. Come back and see us soon.

From Matt on 03/09/15

Overall had a great time.

Just read a review about bed bugs in the cabins. We have reservations for this weekend and am worried now about this. Please let me know if this has been taken care of as I know they are very difficult to get rid of. Thanks

From owner on 03/06/15

Kathy, I'm sorry you were given incorrect information. We do have a two night stay requirement during our season. However, those two nights can be Saturday and Sunday. If you are still interested in making reservations, please call (918) 772-2545 and ask for the manager. I will personally help you with that. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Primitive tent camping (no utilities) is $12 per tent, per night; first come, first served, no reservations and is available in the Paradise Cove area, Creek area, and Choctaw area. If you would like access to utilities, you would need to camp on an RV site and pay the RV rate which runs $20-$23 per night. Thank you.

Sequoyah is not having the haunted hayride this year. Please check the October weekend calendar events on the travelok website for activities at Three Forks Nature Center. If you have questions, please call us at the Park Office at 918-772-2046. Thank you.

Does the park have activities planned for Fall Break, Oct 16-19, haunted hayride, etc...

From Staff on 10/10/14

Suzanne, we're sure that Sequoyah Riding Stables will be able to accommodate a new rider and, according to our information, they do accept credit cards. However, since you'll need to make advance reservations by calling them at 918-772-3906, it would be best to double check that with the staff. Have a great trip and thank you for using!

From Suzanne on 10/09/14

I have been to the park in the off season for meetings. It is a beautiful place, and the staff were wonderful. We are planning a visit on the 18th of October, for batty for bats and to go horseback riding. There will be five of us. One who has never rode before. Will they be able to acommodate a new rider, young adult. If need be, attaching his horses lead to another horse. And also, do they except credit cards for payment.

Travis, according to the park staff, their tent campgrounds are not as heavily populated as the RV campgrounds. I called and spoke to someone Thursday to ask if the Creek area would be open for tent camping the first weekend in November. I do not know who I spoke to, but she told me she would ask her supervisor and call me back. I have not heard anything as of today, and I am trying to plan a camp out for several families for that weekend. Could someone please let me know? I realize that you normally close that area at the beginning of November, but I'm hoping you will make an exception. Both Osage Hills State Park and Okmulgee State Park keep their bathrooms and all camp sites open until the first freeze warning. I also understand that Paradise Cove will be open, but it is the least appealing campground in your entire park, especially for tent campers looking to be in an area with lots of natural beauty. Thank you for your help.

From Staff on 10/09/13

Marlene, the park is open and those are the correct numbers. Please try calling back this morning or sending an email to, and they'll be in touch. We hope you have a great reunion and thank you for using!

From Terrie on 01/16/13

We loved our stay there. Kids want to go back! All kind of activities going on and everyone was so friendly!

From Forrest on 09/28/12

Oh, it is the park's fault that a person and pet got ticks? Wonder if she sprayed and had put frontline on the dog?

From Carrie on 09/27/12

Just a comment to Teresa, we stayed at the park last weekend in a cabin by the lake. We were in and out all weekend, and never saw a single tick. Bugs and spiders, yes, but no ticks. We had a great time. Cabins were clean and there were lots of activities for the kids to do. Would definitely come back.

From Teresa Kiss on 09/26/12

The first of Sept., after stopping at the visitor information center we went for a short walk on the bike trail by the entrance. The park has had a terrible tick problem since we started going in the '70's but we had only walked 100 feet when our arms and legs were crawling with an unbelieveable number of very tiny ticks. We rushed home, showered, picked off ticks and scrubbed the dog. Three days later I came home and there were thousands and thousands of ticks, the size of poppy seeds that had fallen off the dog all over the house. When I put her in the shower to again wash with flea & tick shampoo the ticks were absolutely 3 layers deep. I scrubbed her for almost 2 hours. There should have been a warning sign posted at the entrance and at the visitor center. I will never go back to Sequoyah State Park.

We stayed at Sequoyah RV Park and it was so peaceful. The surrounding trees are a sight to behold and the lake is beautiful. The RV pad and picnic table were new and more than adequate. The birds and butterflies along with the view of the lake made for a peaceful few days!!

From Don Milner on 09/17/11

When attempting to reserve at Seminole Campground by phone for several sites for an RV club, the staff were unfamiliar with the $200 security bond for advance reservations our club has on deposit with the State. Thus requiring the wagonmaster to pay for all sites, the first nights rates by his credit card.

From Ollie Steele on 08/15/11

My family just held a family reunion here in July 2011 – very adequate accommodations for what we needed. It was a great facility in that it had something for everyone even though it was extremely hot. Can't say enough about the treatment and fun we had. The place could stand some updating but overall it was clean & comfortable. Restaurant food was great also with reasonable prices. The caterered prepared food was good as well. We plan on coming back again but know we have to plan far in advance. The hotel staff were friendly & very accommodating.

From Melinda from Dallas on 07/12/11

my family has gone to this park for years, and we always love the beaches here. Tent camping is great, and there are tables and grills in some places, but gets really busy on holiday weekends.

From Cheryl on 11/01/10

We camped here for Spring Break it is our favorite. We tent camped and enjoyed the many amenities of the lodge. The kids loved the arts and crafts and the deer were beautiful to watch. Staff was wonderful and we plan to go back for Spring Break 2011. It was worth the 5 hour drive.

We stayed in a cabin at Western Hills and the rooms were very clean & nice. Mind you it wasn't the Hilton or Marriott but then the price isn't either. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved seeing all the wildlife.
