The 13th annual Archaeology Day and 40th Birthday Bash at the Spiro Mounds Archaeological Center is a day to celebrate the public opening of the only prehistoric Native American archaeological site in Oklahoma. Throughout the day, an archaeologist will be on hand to identify visitor artifact collections. There will be flintknapping demonstrations during the day and lectures on the history of the area. Archaeologist Dennis Peterson will lead a tour of the site at 2pm.
