Bring the entire family to Cherokee's Family Fourth of July celebration and enjoy a full day of fun that starts with a salute to the U.S. Flag, led by the American Legion and followed by horseshoe tournaments, egg tosses, sack races and more old-fashioned games. The cutie contest is a chance for everyone to show off their grandkids, while the best dressed and most unusual pet contest lets Fido join the fun. Feast on hamburgers and hot dogs at noon before enjoying a free afternoon swim, which will cool everyone off in time for the evening activities at the Alfalfa County Fairgrounds. Come to this patriotic event for turtle races, a carp catch, a raffle giveaway and homemade ice cream. Stick around for an evening fireworks display.
