Christmas in the Park
Nov 18, 2017 to Dec 31, 2017
Yukon's Christmas in the Park offers a beautiful lighted drive through three interconnecting parks. Yukon's Chisholm Trail, Freedom Trail and city parks make up over 100 acres of Christmas cheer that include over 425 displays and five million lights. Don't miss the 50-ft, multi-colored, lighted Christmas tree, or catch the Santa Express Train ride through this illuminated winter wonderland.
Yukon's Christmas in the Park began with a short holiday drive through a handful of colorful exhibits and has grown to acres upon acres of illuminated magic and millions of twinkling lights. Now considered a favorite holiday stop among residents of central Oklahoma, Christmas in the Park has secured its place as a top holiday tradition in the state.
Enjoy a drive-through experience, or bundle up for the cold weather and venture out of your vehicle for a walk along the trail of lights. Yukon's parks contain numerous areas to park and walk amongst the lights and special pull-over areas are available to watch the displays, some of which are choreographed to popular Christmas music.
During the opening evening of Christmas in the Park, visitors to this event will watch over four million lights and 200 displays light up the night as they are turned on. Activities in the parks that night include the Chill your Cheeks 5K run beginning at 4:30pm, the Jingle Walk and a Kris Kringle Karnival from 6-8pm, complete with Christmas games, crafts, live music and pictures with Santa.
Work off that heavy Thanksgiving meal at the Chill Your Cheeks 5K. This annual fun run winds through the streets of Yukon before ending amid the five million twinkling lights of Christmas in the Park. Sanctioned by USA Track & Field, this race will have you in the holiday spirit in no time, so bundle up and prepare for Chill Your Cheeks. Registration is required.
Yukon's three lighted parks are great for tour buses or anyone searching for the ultimate holiday experience. Admission to Christmas in the Park is free; however, donations are merrily accepted.
