Oklahoma Steam Threshing & Gas Engine Show
401 E Beck Dr
Come step back in time at the 49th Annual Oklahoma Steam Threshing and Gas Engine Association Show. This year, check out the featured Advance-Rumely steam engine and gas tractor. The Briggs and Stratton Corporation will be the featured gas engine.
As always, there will be from 15 to 20 steam traction engines (steam tractors) operating varios era correct machines. Another popular display is our steam powered saw mill that operates almost nonstop during show hours. The newest display is a 1920s rock crusher that is powered by a large, gasoline fueled stationary engine. There is an operating blacksmith shop as well as an early twentieth century machine shop. Both have machinery that is driven by flat belts. There will be tons of gasoline powered tractors from the very early 1900s through the mid-1960s. A flea market, arts and crafts area and a hobby-related swap meet area is also located on-site. The excitement doesn't stop at dusk. In the evening hours the steam engines put on a spark show, blowing burning cinders 50 to 60 feet into the air. There is always a free cornbread and bean supper for vendors and exhibitors on Thursday evening.
Camping (for exhibitors) is available on the grounds. Hookups are $10 per night for water and electric and $5 for primitive. There is a dump station on the grounds. Non-exhibitor camping is available a short distance away at Pawnee Lake, also for a fee. Note that 50 amp hookups are available only at the lake.
This event will be held rain or shine, and there are plenty of indoor exhibitors.
