Make your way to downtown Salina for the annual Chouteau Day Celebration & Parade.  This event commemorates the founding of Salina, Oklahoma's oldest permanent settlement, which was founded by Major Jean Pierre Chouteau on October 10, 1796.  Bring the whole family out to participate in events including a shotgun shoot, archery shoot, horseshoe pitch and greased pig contest.  Enjoy a parade featuring decorated floats, bicycles and cars, as well as marching bands, vintage cars and more.

Kids will have a blast at the Chouteau Day Celebration & Parade, with children's games, pony rides and inflatables available.  Enjoy live music throughout the day, and make sure to browse the arts and crafts vendor booths.  When it's time for a snack, visit the food vendors for turkey legs, funnel cakes and corn dogs.  Other activities scheduled for the Chouteau Day Celebration & Parade include a demolition derby, outhouse derby and a fireman's muster.
