The annual Eastern Shawnee Tribal Powwow in Wyandotte is a grand festival of Native American culture and dance. This event features a spectacular display of regalia as well as a wide range of contest dancing like gourd and straight dancing, as well as grass, traditional and fancy dancing. There will also be junior dance categories as well, and be sure to stick around for the hand drum contest on Sunday. Browse through numerous booths filled with American Indian arts and crafts, enjoy the free camping, listen to some traditional storytelling and sample some of the excellent food.

George, the nearest campgrounds will be the Twin Bridges Area at Grand Lake State Park. They have 63 RV sites with water and electric hookups for $20 per night and 100 tent campsites for $12 per night.
