Catch a glimpse of the past at Living History on the Chisholm Trail in Kingfisher. This event, held at the Chisholm Trail Museum, features encampments depicting life on the Oklahoma frontier in the 1800s with lawmen and gunfighters, trick roping and shooting, American Indian history, cowboy stories and more.

Visitors to Living History on the Chisholm Trail will also enjoy demonstrations of weaving, spinning, lace-making, flint-knapping and authentic chuckwagon cookery. Don't miss the butter churning in the Cole cabin and attend a class in the Gant one-room schoolhouse. Musicians will be playing era folk music to provide an authentic experience.

Re-enactors portray many historical figures including Annie Oakley and her husband Frank Butler showing off their sharp shooting. The Underhill Gang will play out the Underhill bank robbery of 1933 that happened right in Kingfisher. Additional gun fights and other historical reenactments will happen throughout the day. You may even see Buffalo Bill wandering around.

Stick around to enjoy the event's food booth and watering hole with cold sarsaparilla. Grab a plate of biscuits or a bowl of stew made on site using chuck wagon cooking methods.
