Named one of the top ten July 4th festivals in the United States by CNN and USA Today, LibertyFest in Edmond has something for everyone.  Join in the fun and celebrate freedom with this event, which has been hosted in Edmond more than 40 years.  This citywide festival features a variety of great, family-oriented events including a concert, road rally, kite fest, rodeo, car show, food fest, parade, fireworks and entertainment. 

This week-long patriotic celebration honors the birthday of the nation, as well as the heritage of Oklahoma.  Come to LibertyFest to feel the excitement of one of the largest Independence Day celebrations around, to be entertained by top-notch festival events and to be dazzled by the largest fireworks display in the Oklahoma City metro area.  LibertyFest draws an annual attendance of over 125,000 and plays host to Oklahoma's largest hometown July 4th parade with over 100 entries. 

LibertyFest 2017 Events Schedule:

Concert in the Park at UCO: June 29 at 7:30pm - This concert will feature a mix of light classics, marches and patriotic music. The one-hour show will feature a range of traditional "concert in the park" music with broad appeal. Be sure and stick around afterward for free watermelon and ice cream.

Car Show: June 24 from 8am-2pm - The 16th annual LibertyFest Car Show will feature dazzling automobiles separated and judged by decade, make and specialty group. See who takes home a trophy at this fun event.
 
‚ÄčKiteFest: June 24-25 from 9:30am-4:30pm - Marvel at the hundreds of kites that will paint the sky at KiteFest. Located on the far west side of Mitch Park, this high-flying event will include opportunities for experienced flyers and novices alike to get in on the fun.

Rodeo: June 24-25 beginning at 8pm both nights - Don't miss a second of the high-energy rodeo action at the LibertyFest Rodeo. Come enjoy classic rodeo events like bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding, calf roping, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and more.
 
Road Rally: July 2 from 8am-5pm - Bring the whole family out to this one-of-a-kind scavenger hunt on wheels. Instructions, driving directions and puzzle questions will be given at the starting line located at Earl's Rib Palace. From there, you'll travel to special locations all over the city at this timed event that's fun for the whole family. There is a $10 entry fee for each vehicle. When you're done, why not enjoy a thrilling helicopter ride? 

‚ÄčA Taste of Edmond: July 2 from 6:30-8:30pm - Enjoy local flavors as more than 40 Edmond restaurants provide visitors with lip-smacking dishes that are sure to get you in the spirit of the holiday. Entry per person for this all-you-can-eat event is $12 for those with children 10 and under, and $17 for everyone else.

Parade: July 4 at 9am - Join more than 50,000 spectators at this festive Independence Day parade in downtown Edmond. Bands, floats, marching groups, antique cars, clowns, round-up clubs, Shriners and more will be providing color and excitement at this anticipated annual event. Be sure and pop into the Historic School House on 2nd Street, which is located on the route and will be open during the parade.

ParkFest & Fireworks at UCO: July 4 beginning at 6pm - Come celebrate Independence Day with fun, festive activities and attractions, including fabulous food, face painting, live music and—of course—fireworks. With plenty of activities for kids and adults, this patriotic event is sure to be fun for the whole family. LibertyFest's famous fireworks show begins at 9:30pm, so be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the largest fireworks display in the OKC metro.
