Come to this September festival to learn about Choctaw traditions and tribal customs. Celebrate this prime example of Native American culture with traditional village events, Choctaw dancing, stickball games, storytelling, silversmithing and demonstrations of primitive weaponry. Children's activities will include a corn game and pottery-making. Don't miss the Choctaw Nation Powwow and witness the amazing spectacle of hundreds of dancers around the nation descending on Tuskahoma in full regalia to compete in a variety of native dance competitions. Gourd dancing and traditional drumming will all be highlighted.

The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival will also feature traditional arts and crafts, handmade American Indian items on display, sporting tournaments, carnival rides and a State of the Nation address. Visitors will also enjoy a 5K run and walk, horseshoe tournaments, gospel singing, mechanical bull rides, pony rides for the kids and Inca flute players. Bring the entire family to enjoy an extensive selection of fun activities and information booths, and be rewarded with an exciting look into contemporary native culture. The Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival is the place to be this Labor Day weekend.

A great way to begin any day of the festival is by visiting the Choctaw Nation Museum. The museum holds many historical artifacts and information about the Choctaw culture and past, including actual objects that were carried across the Trail of Tears and interactive exhibits.

would love to attend your event. i'm a food vendoe. do you have any locations left for this years festival

From rita hadley on 07/27/16

The festival is so much fun. It is well organized. The concerts are always awesome. You bring your own lawn chair for the concerts. It is always hot but if you go prepared you will enjoy it. The one concern every year is the people that stand in the walk way & hang on the fence. The people sitting in the lawn chairs on the grass can not see thru or over these people. I hope there could be a NO STANDING SIGN in the pathway. Someone always has to be taken out on a cart to the first aid area. People standing are in the paramedics way to get the person to safety. Hope this will be better patrolled. Sign would definitely help since the people standing do not seem to notice that they are blocking hundreds of peoples view. Otherwise come to enjoy an awesome 4 days with your tribe.

What bands are playing this year

From glenda ledbetter on 09/03/15

Number one the RV spots are not FREE by all means and if you want one you would have to get one a year early and they cost.. applications start in Oct.. I found that out late..Also yes the shows are free and I am thinking all the rides for the kiddos are also free.. never took my kids down there when they were little . but I think they are free rides.. No they do not furnish you anything and especially camping. YOU pay for that..and there wouldn't be any generators there for tents people would be taking them lol goodness people think before you ask silly questions.. Yes pets are allowed there. Ive seen lots of people with their dogs on leases.. I do feel that they should accommodate for the handicap that come there. I feel they should make more up front parking for those individuals because so many cannot walk very far and have problems breathing.. just makes sense to hold a large area up towards the front for those people. I know they have those carts that pick up individuals but you have to wait on those to come around to get you.. just saying seem only fair to handicap since they should come first.. The tribes makes plenty of money at these casinos to do whatever needs to be done they cannot say they are not getting rich off these casinos. I watch one lady at a casino put thousands of dollars in some machines and never got a single penny out of it. I am talking at least $4,000 in one machine and that much if not more in another one.. so people spend big there at those casinos and they are racking in the money to do things with but what are they doing building more casinos. lol

From TravelOK.com Staff on 09/03/15

From monica gomez on 09/03/15

was wondering if they allow pets? i hve a teacup chihiuhua and wana take him

From cynthia on 09/02/15

I was wondering if there are generators out where you camp in tents or do we have to bring one

From Jerry Shelton on 08/28/15

I've been going there for years and I HAVEto wonder why bmy I've been going there for years and I have to wonder why MY TRIBE is the only property owners I've ever seen or heard of that actually charges handicap people, such as myself, to park in handicap parking ? I know the casinos are taking plenty of revenue from the white-eyes

From Loreta Harrison on 08/18/15

I would like to know why Choctaw nation doesn't accommodate the people who have to work there during the festival. Many who have to work did not receive a RV space. Many have to drive long distances.Choctaw nation should build RV spaces just for workers who have to drive so far. That's the least they could do for the workers.

From TravelOK.com Staff on 07/28/15

Marsha, according to their website, all RV spaces have already been reserved at this time. However, you can find other nearby places to camp by selecting 'Lodging withing 5 miles' under the map feature on this page. Thank you for using TravelOK.com!

From marsha fernandez on 07/27/15

From Jennifer on 07/21/15

I've found an application for RV spots online and it says to include your CDIB card number.......my question is do you have to have a CDIB to get an RV spot and if not, what's the likelyhood of getting one at this time for the Labor Day festival?

From amy on 07/20/15
