Throughout this Memorial Day weekend celebration, patriots are celebrated with a spotlight panel sharing stories of patriotism, followed by a tribute honoring all present military. Enjoy the Celebration of Freedom parade and witness over 100 entrants of all kinds and descriptions, including marching bands, floats, balloons, horses, cars, tractors and lots of veterans.
If a motorcycle poker run is more your style, then slip on your glasses, tighten your bandanna and get ready for one heck of a ride. Join hundreds of other riders as they promote patriotism with the Freedom Ride through the Wichita Mountains. Also, make sure to attend the annual Arts on the Square event, one of the most outstanding community art shows in southwestern Oklahoma, which also includes a large number of arts and crafts. The Kiowa County Quilt Show will also be held this Memorial Day weekend and will feature a patriotic quilt display, free demonstrations, merchant mall, door prizes, free goodie bags and quilts for sale.
