Visit the U.S.S. Batfish Living History Days in Muskogee and transport yourself back in time to WWII onboard the U.S.S. Batfish submarine. Witness the U.S.S. Batfish come alive as it would have been in WWII as the Batfish Living History Association fills the day with exciting military history stories of the past. Visitors to this event will also enjoy guided tours of this decorated WWII submarine by living historians dressed in 1940s Naval regalia.

Relive history by watching live demonstrations throughout the day, and stop by the veterans room to speak with combat veterans with unique experiences. There will also be two tracked vehicles on display, an extensive special weapons collection exhibition on site and a full set up of a typical WWII military encampment for touring.

The Batfish was constructed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire, launched May 5, 1943 under the sponsorship of Mrs. Nellie W. Fortier and commissioned on August 21, 1943. On October 14, the Batfish was pronounced ready for battle and embarked toward Pearl Harbor via the Panama Canal. The Batfish participated in seven war patrols, claimed a total of 15 ships sunk for 37,484 tons and damaged three other ships. Attend U.S.S. Batfish Living History Days for a fantastic display of WWII living history.
