Travel back in time and take a look into the past while attending Coweta's Civil War Candlelight Tour & Re-enactment. Return to the year 1864 as former Union and Confederate forces inside Indian Territory are on the move. As the Confederates plan to capture tiny Fort Wayne near the Arkansas border, will the Union forces protect their position or will the Confederates succeed in their mission? Come to the Civil War Candlelight Tour & Re-enactment and find out, but be careful. Passwords may be required to move safely through the camps unchallenged. Also take the time to check out the Coweta Mission camp of mountain men.

All guests to Coweta's Civil War Candlelight Tour, held Friday from 6pm-9pm, should allow approximately one hour for the guided walking tour. Wear appropriate clothing for walking in natural conditions. Tour groups will be kept to manageable sizes for optimum viewing.

School days begin at 10am Friday morning with candlelight tours beginning at 6pm. Living history tours will begin Saturday at 10am and will run until around 1pm. Then, during the Civil War Re-enactment, held Saturday at 1pm, watch as 50-75 infantry members engage in a full-scale battle, including Civil War-era artillery cannons. Following the re-enactment, living history tours will be held again until 4pm. Don't miss out on the Civil War-period dance at 7:30pm, where you can kick up your heels to the music of a simpler time.

On Sunday, camps open at 10am with a second battle re-enactment to be held from 1-2:30pm. Refreshments from on-site food vendors and Civil War-period settlers and traders will be available, and the Civil War museum on the grounds will be open during all activities except the dance.
