Description

Rent canoes and kayaks for a plotted three or eight mile float along the Mountain Fork River in Broken Bow with the help of Yippie Kayo Kayaks & Canoes. These pre-planned float trips are made for convenience and worry-free adventure. Park your vehicle at a marked landing and be bussed back to the beginning at the dam. The cool, crisp waters will refresh you during the summer months and warm weather.

Choose the three mile trip and pass through the "Rock Gardens" as you take off from the re-regulation dam and on to "the chute." You'll then pass over a two and a half foot waterfall called "Presbyterian Falls" and end up in Cooper Creek where you'll kayak down the river a little further and pull over after completing your journey. This trip is a class 2+ rating and generally takes between three and four hours.

The eight mile trek includes the three miles previously mentioned, but you will continue down an additional five miles of breathtaking river and scenery. The chances to watch wildlife are more abundant, as this part of the river is less traveled. This trip generally takes five or six hours.

All participants must be at least eight years old and younger children may only go if they are at least four feet tall and are accompanied by a parent. Yippie Kayo Kayaks & Canoes also has smaller kayaks for children and shorter adults. There are shower areas and bathrooms at the landings and coolers and trash bags are available. It is generally recommended to book two weeks in advance of a holiday, and if you wish to float earlier than 8am, it is requested you call a day in advance.
