Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry
The Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry in Locust Grove invites visitors to get inspired by reading the poems of others and creating their own. Located in a small and cozy building, ROMP offers hands-on exhibits like poetry blocks and magnetic poetry. The 2016 exhibit highlights poetry from 1880 to the 1970's that was typically written in autograph books. You can read many of the poems, view the museum's collection of more than 60 autograph books, and participate in 6 different activities, including a poem treasure hunt. Explore your creative side with a visit to the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry.
ROMP is located 2 miles west of Locust Grove, but in downtown Locust Grove, you can also visit the ROMP Rummage Store, a thrift store that funds the museum and its work. ROMP Rummage is open noon to 6 pm Thursday-Saturday.
