Dedicate two days to celebrating the historic 150th anniversary of the Emancipated Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes by attending the 1866 Treaty Memorial Event. Held at Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City, this two-day semi-formal extravaganza will kick off on Friday with presentations, a social hour and an elegant, plated dinner. The following day will feature a cook-out in the park with live music, games and the chance to mix and mingle with other guests.

Keynote speaker and living history interpreter Wallace C. Moore will educate guests on "The Life and Times of Cow Tom." In his speech, Moore will touch on the history of the 1866 treaty's signing, including the role of Cow Tom, a free man of color. Muscogee Creek Indian Freedmen Band will also honor the memory of those who helped grant freedom to all tribal citizens with live performances throughout this two-day event. Dress up and commemorate this crucial historic event that led to equal protection for Freedmen who were formerly slaves within the Five Civilized Tribes.
