We are interested in staying July 31 and Aug. 1, leaving the morning of Aug. 2. We will have 8 in our party and was wondering about the 30' yurt. We will also want to float in rafts. We would like to bring our dogs. They are show dogs and will be left in a dog crate while we float. Please let me know if you have anything available. Thank you, Sondra

I apologize to the folks who tried to book with us and did not get return calls. We had new office help this last summer and apparently the pace of the season was too much. I'll be in the office this year so try us again and I will personally do my best to get everyone taken care of. Understand though....the summer season is extremely busy so it is best to book your reservations in January or February to insure you have a spot/cabin and to receive our undivided attention! Have a great year and we look forward to hosting you all this season.

My family of 4 were thre this past weekend. When we heard about their view, their rates.. how could we resist! so kind, so polite.. we were sad to hear they couldn't accomodate us due to repairs but we referred to sparrowhawk and I could have cried. the way that place treated me was horrible! I refused to allow them to treat me so bad AND give them my money. We left. but once Elephant Rock is back up and running I can't wait to spend time there. They left a wonderful impression on us. Their helper was just the nicest and kindest person! We'll see them next summer though without a doubt.

I have been trying for the past 2 weeks to book a yurt they are not in the office when I call the times I have talked to a person they say they will call me back and let me know once they are in the office. I have sent 3 online forms also. Sigh I have been REALLY wanting to book with them but I am not important enough to warrant a return call.

Heather, a yurt is a round, tent-like structure. The yurts at Elephant Rock can sleep up to six adults between two full-sized beds and one full-sized futon. It does offer heating and air conditioning, so they can be enjoyed all year! According to Elephant Rock's website, rates run $140 per night for four people with linens provided, $120 for four people without linens and an extra $10 per person. Weekend rentals require a day day minimum. You can book by calling 918-456-4215. Have a great day and thank you for using TravelOK.com!

First time camping in a yurt, awesome time!! The campground is great, very clean and the staff is very accomadating. We didn't get a chance to kayak but we are looking forward to returning and spending more time camping again soon. Highly recommend staying there...

From Jeremy on 03/24/14

Although I did not stay on the campground I can tell you the owner was extremely helpful in aiding in my need to get on the river. Reasonably priced quick and easy transport to the put in and the take out. Would recommend anytime!

From Jeff on 01/25/14

I stayed there a few years ago and, having been vacationing around the world a lot the last few years in mostly 5 star hotels, the memories of the beauty of Elephant Rock, the wonderful yurts, and the Illinois River are the best ones

From TravelOK.com Staff on 09/16/13

From Tracy Moore on 09/14/13

What is the cost of a yurt & float trip in a raft? Also can you send me pictures of yurt? Are dogs allowed? For the 8 mile trip.

From owner on 12/27/12

Jodi, Sorry you visited at a time when our facilities were in an expansion mode. We did move two office trailers in to facilitate a new store for our guests and one for my elderly Mother who requires 24 hour care. I can assure you that they will not be an eye sore when we're done renovating them. There are plenty of beautiful views here at Elephant Rock you just have to focus on the positive things and not get too side-tracked with my efforts to take care of the people and things that I'm here for! Hope the service was good and that you'll reconsider your negative stance and come back some day. For the rest of you folks....There are many more comments on our guestbook at www.elephant-rock.com that will give you a more fair description of the experiences most encounter here. Happy New Year!

From TravelOK.com Staff on 04/04/12
