If you like observing rare and exquisite natural stones, shells, gems and more, then head to Oral Roberts University’s Elsing Museum in Tulsa for an unprecedented ‘rocking’ exhibit of priceless minerals and natural crystal formations, intricate Oriental sculptures and rarities from around the world.

This geological museum features the exquisite rock collection of Willard Elsing, whose lifelong fascination for mineral and rock art grew into a curated collection. Opened on Route 66 near Joplin in the 1920s, Elsing's shop collection grew as miners in the region brought him their rare finds. After more than 80 years of amassing his collection, Mr. Elsing donated his treasures for research and education. They have remained on display at Oral Roberts University for all to enjoy since 2001.

Explore fascinating specimens, mineral art and precious gems such as the electromagnetic spectrum exhibit that displays a collection of rock illuminated with a black light to reveal vibrant colors present within each stone. Discover the intricacies of yellow sulphur or Dogtooth Calcite crystals and admire a grouping of polished agate sections. The international collection also features unique historical items ranging from Native American arrowheads to delicate ivory and jade sculptures.

This unique museum offers free admission for all ages with guided school or group tours available by appointment.
