Often called the "crown jewel" of Northeast Oklahoma, the four-county region surrounding Grand Lake offers limitless wonderment. Activities range from golf and all types of water sports to some of the best motorcycle roads, an outstanding fishery and outdoor hunting paradise. The lake which lies in a southwest to northeast direction, is popular with sailboat enthusiasts wishing to take advantage of the prevailing wind. Normal surface elevation is 742 feet above sea level.
