Description

Located on the shore of Grand Lake is Grove's own Honey Creek Area at Grand Lake State Park. The 38-acre park is open year-round, and contains 49 RV sites, 100 tent sites, picnic facilities, a dump station, three shelters and five comfort stations, four of which have showers.

While enjoying your stay in Grove, be sure to check out the two-mile walking path through the park, which is especially beautiful in the spring when the Dogwood and Redbud trees are in full bloom. Or, gather the entire family, bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some fresh air while dining al fresco at one of the park's many picnic tables scattered throughout the grounds.

On the contrary Ms. Miller needs to stay home if she wants the comforts of home. Honey Creek is a beautiful Park with many ammenities. Come visit you will enjoy the view.

From Adrian Miller on 06/24/2012

Honey Creek is only a good campsite if you like boating on the lake from dawn to dusk and only need a place to squat until you go out on your boat the next day. When we arrived to camp not go on the lake, we were met with an abundance of trash on our site where there are few level places to pitch tent. The grills were filled with burnt refuse as well as a few freshly used drink cups. We were disappointed at how small the sites were and how close they were to the road. Oh by the way, Honey Creek does not close at night. I found that out as several people arrived at midnight shining the headlights into my tent. Speaking of lights, we did not know until the sun went down that there was a strobe light on the lake next to our site. It blinked all night. We were also not aware of a bright lampost next to our site which lit up our tents inside and out all night. The bathroom was closed and we had to hike up a hill to use the bug infested bathrooms by the pool. The pool was nice. But you can't be modest. There are no curtains or doors on the showers or changing stalls. There was also no soap in the womens restroom.
