Description

Keystone Lake, built and operated by the Corps of Engineers, is located on the Arkansas River about 23 miles west of downtown Tulsa. The lake is situated on 54,320 acres of land and is nestled between sandstone bluffs and sandy beaches. At normal elevation, Keystone Lake is about 23,600 acres in size. The lake was named for the community of Keystone, a post office from 1900 until 1962 when it was inundated by the waters of the lake. There are 11 recreation areas with a variety of accommodations ranging from group camp sites and shelters to furnished cabins, full and partial hook-ups, and tent sites.

Limited shoreline available for boats. All good beach is reserved for swimming only. 1/2 mile swimming area with 10 car parking lot is stupid. Corp of Engineers did very poor planning. Safety a big issue. Swimming area on boat ramp.
