Do you know if there any 6 person cabins available for the night of Monday June 10th? For some reason I'm having trouble getting a call to go through.
Miranda, most of the children's programs will be held at the Forest Heritage Center, and the staff there will be able to tell you what they have planned in the upcoming months. Give them a call at 580-494-6497. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com!
Under on-site activities it says children's programs. Any idea what will be available mid July?
Bre, if you'll go to our page for the Beavers Bend Depot & Stables, you'll find information on cost, hours, directions and contact information. Unfortunately, they do not have their own website. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com!
Is there a website for the horseback riding? If you click on the link it takes you to Beavers Bend Depot and Stables but there isn't actually any information. Thank you.

Favorite place for recreation and relaxation. Beautiful any time of the Year. We. Enjoy outdoor wiener and marshmallow, roast around a camp fire. We own a family cabin in Hochatown with 2 lots next door so have great privacy. A short drive from Dallas/Ft. Worth area. So much to entertain family or enjoy bonding with family. So glad I began enjoying the area as a child and can share it with my grown children forever.

Sherri, over the winter some campgrounds will close certain areas like comfort stations, and we post all that information on each state park page around November. January is one of our coldest months with an average temperature of 46 degrees, but there's nothing like looking over the Mountain Fork River on a winter day! For more information, please contact the park at 580-494-6300. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com!
I was wondering if camping here in Jan. would be a good idea or if we would need to go further south is there much to do in that time of year. We are from Nebraska so are used to colder weather but we would like to use our camper sometime this winter without traveling real far.

Dave, there are 23 RV sites with sewage hookups at Hochatown and none at Beavers Bend. As to reservations, the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department is currently working with other state agencies and their contractors to put a reservation system in place for Oklahoma State Parks. We're looking forward to an early 2013 release date. Until then all the campsites at Beavers Bend & Hochatown State Park are available on a first come, first serve basis. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com!
Do any of the RV camp sites offer sewer connections at the camp site? Either on the Hochatown side or the Beavers Bend side? And are reservations accepted at ANY sites here?

Do we need to make reservations in advance for on-site activities?
Melissa - Average high temperatures in the Broken Bow area in August range from the mid- to upper-90s, with lows tracking around 67 degrees. October should be beautiful with the average high around 76 degrees, and the average low 48 degrees.

We visited Beavers Bend for the first time in Oct 2011, loved it so much we returned in April 2012 and already planning another trip in October this year. Everything was very well kept, hiking trails were clean and well marked, RV sites were very nice. Lots of wildlife to view. My lil'yorkie thought he had died and went to heaven watching all the squirrels. We saw lots of deer, possums, coons, beavers, and eagles. It is so peaceful and I can hardly wait to go back. Gorgeous park
Lyndsey, for cancellation policies, please call the phone number or email the park using the contact information above. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
If i cancel my cabin reservation before the deadline will i get my deposit back?
Dear Mr. Baptist. The group info is listed at the top of the page on the right with the PDFs. I tried to include the link here, but it will not allow me.
I have a large outfitter Southern Baptist religious camp for 35 with 10 tandem canoes and six kayaks and would like Info on group camping. Camp gear info and layout is available. You group info was not available.
Michael, yes dogs are welcome at Oklahoma State Parks. Please refer to our State Park FAQ sheet above for guidelines. Have a great time at Beavers Bend and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
would like to bring my family to camp in a tent but was wondering if dogs are allowed we know very few people as we just moved here and wanted to beable to bring our pet she is a great dane thanks.
Over all the Hochatown State Park/Broken Bow lake is beautiful. The only down side is the camping site restrooms including the showers are beyond filthy. Needs improvement! Thank you.
R Wiske, the Beavers Bend area would be a great destination for a spring fishing trip! Give the Beavers Bend State Park office a call and ask to speak with the park naturalist. They'll be the experts on fish species in the area and probably some great information about some prime spots also. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
A group of guys including myself are looking into this area for a spring trip. I would like to know if there are any species other than trout to fish for in the immediate area/ in the river system.. Thanks!
It is amazing to see all the bad comments on the upkeep of the cabins. I am ashamed to say, it has not always been this way. How sad to know management doesn't seem to care. Yes they are cabins, but cost of replacement, is far more expensive than upkeep. Wow. My family was planning a reunion at the park. I was anticipating using cabins to help group us together, but now...I'm having second thoughts! What a shame to let such a beautiful place go to waste.
Chandra, please contact the park directly using their toll-free number or email address above for up-to-date camping information. Have a wonderful time at the park and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
Are there any campgrounds with bathroom/shower facilities open right now for popup campers? Thank you.
Who was the man who was park manager when Herb Goddard took over?
been to beavers bend at cabin rental's twice , and we are going back in a month. Loved every peaceful min. of it ..
Chad, as a general rule, campers and visitors to Oklahoma State Parks are encouraged to bring their own firewood and kindling supplies. Some park offices sell firewood but that varies from park to park. State parks prohibit wood collection from the park grounds. Park guests may also bring charcoal and starter logs if they choose. For more Parks FAQs, please refer to the printable document up in the right hand corner of this page. Have a great time at Beavers Bend State Park and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
Does the park allow you to use wood on the ground for a fire? Does the park sale firewood??
How full are the rv sites? We would like to stay this Wednesday,Thursday and Friday nights.
Jerry, as a general rule camp and RV sites are occupied on a first come, first served basis. For more information, please call or e-mail the park directly using the contact details above. Hope you have a wonderful time at Beavers Bend & Hochatown State Park and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
Can reservations be made for RV sites? Especially interested in the modern sites which are $23 per night correct? Are there Camp Hosts or Park Rangers at the camping areas? Thank you!
Lynde, great question and we can help. At Oklahoma State Parks the base rate for a primitive tent or RV camp site is $12.00 per night. For a semi-modern site, which includes electric and water, the rate is $20.00 per night. If you'd like a modern site, which includes electric, sewer and water, the rate is $23.00 per night. Some parks offer premium sites, like those at water's edge, for an additional $5.00 fee per night. For campers over the age of 62, Oklahoma State Parks offer a $2.00 discount on the base rate per night, with proper identification. Additional rates for electric, sewer or water are not discounted. Have a great time camping at Beavers Bend State Park and thank you for using TravelOK.com.
I am interested in camping around the end of September or early October, I don't see pricing on tent camping, how much per night is it?
was there last year around the last part of september 2010.with my mother it was absoultly beautiful, breath takin we had so much fun ..we are planning on coming back there the 1st week in november....cant wait.
Rented four cabins for a family reunion this last weekend and was disappointed in the condition of each. The hide-a-beds were not usable, with mattresses literally falling apart and inoperable mechanisms. Grimy hand prints around door knobs and cabinet pulls, light fixtures full of dead bugs, cobweb covered ceilings, beds with no linens and the list goes on. The cabins were just plain dirty and poorly maintained. A nice place, but terribly mis-managed. What a shame.
This will be my family's 11th year to spend 9 to 12 days there on the river I just love it..There is so much to do it is very peaceful and relaxing.
check this out
it was so much fun there with my family. i am going to go back this summer
We just got back from a week in one of the riverfront cabins. What a great place. It's hard to pick the best part but I think it is the quiet. You can almost feel the quiet. We were disappointed to find that none of the riverfront cabins are pet friendly. We will go back next year.
Beautiful area. If you're looking for a great place to camp or R.V. then make your reservation here. So much to see and do. We only had two days and three nights to stay and we wanted more! We love this place and we will be back!
A great park but I can see that most of the cabins need preventive maintance done.Big piles of pine needles on roofs which shortens the shingles life and exteriors could be power washed a couple of times a year..Why don't you use ODC inmates for this type of preventive maintenance? It is a shame to let these buildings run down for lack of maintenance when tourism is so big in Okla
Thanks for the comment you posted. We enjoy having scouts here at the park and always look forward to helping them any way we can. We've had some trails that have changed recently and are going to try and work on them this winter (weather permitting) or this spring. Keep coming back and don't hesitate to let us know how we can improve your outdoor experience. Thanks! Mike Willeby, assistant park manager
Our Cub Scouts camp there every year. Its the highlight of our year. Trails are fantastic, nature center, wildlife, etc. Its all there. As a Texan, got to say that part of Oklahoma has us beat....
