Dana, since the Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area is located on Fort Sill, you will have to go through a gate and show your ID. Before you go, please call ahead to 580-442-5858 to get directions and find out what entrance gates are open. Thank you for using TravelOK.com!

Staying in a cabin next week and was recently informed by family about needing some sort of pass to get onto the grounds. Is this still needed? There's nothing on your site about it that I've seen. Where does one go to obtain the pass if necessary? Thank you.

It is very good place, but I forget to take my credit card after I buy the water

Ashley, if you'll visit LETRA's web site by clicking on the red web site link above, they not only have their rental fees for cabins and tent sites but more good information that you'll want to plan a trip. Have a wonderful time in southwest Oklahoma and thank you for visiting TravelOK.

how much is it a night to camp??

From Paul Williamson on 06/29/12

The camp host site looks like a getto area and it appears that there are more long term residents which take space away from the overall military/retirement community. Last year I was told that the park was full but year after year I see the same rigs parked in the same areas..

Beach is great. Slide wasn't open the day we went, so disappointed about that, but it is usually open. Boat rentals were reasonably priced.

We went for the first time the weekend of June 12th and had an awesome time!! I reccomend this lake to everyone...going again this weekend too

From Jean Williams on 06/03/11

Most miss managed camp site I have ever been to. The cabins are very, very dirty and hot. The air conditioning can not reach the loft or the bedrooms so it is impossible to sleep there during the summer. The porch light did not work. There was a broken lamp in the livingroom area and our screen door was missing so we could not open the front door at night. Worst camp ground we have ever stayed at. It could be a nice place if managed correctly. Don't waste your money. We will never go there again.

From Carla on 04/07/11

Had a wonderful time staying at LETRA. the campground & cabins are nice and clean! Will definately stay again when visiting my soldier again!
