Lake McMurtry in Stillwater is a quiet, family-friendly lake that offers camping, swimming, fishing, boating, approximately 27 miles of multi-use trails for mountain biking, hiking and trail running, two 18-hole disc golf courses and watchable wildlife.  Group facilities, picnic areas, outdoor grills, fire rings and restrooms are available on-site, as well as RV dump stations, fishing docks, boat ramps and a fishing house.

West Recreation Area: From I-35, take exit on Hwy 51. Go east 12 miles, then north on Redlands Rd 3 miles. Go west on Airport/Alamo 1 mile, then north into lake property. East Recreation Area: From Stillwater, go north on Hwy 177, then west on Lake McMurtry/Burris Rd for 5 1/2 miles.

This a beautiful escape from the city, whether you're in Stillwater, OKC or Tulsa. It's less than an hour from all three. It is clean and peaceful and I like that there is no alcohol allowed there. You don't have to worry about being in the midst of the, quote party scene. Go there to camp and hike the trails as often as possible
