***NOTICE*** Lake Thunderbird State Park in Cleveland County is under a burn ban that will last through March 29.

Lake Thunderbird State Park offers a variety of water activities and recreation. The park features two marinas (Calypso Cove Marina and Little River Marina), nine boat ramps and two swim beaches. Accommodations include over 200 RV sites with 30 full hookup sites, restroom facilities and primitive campsites. Lake Thunderbird State Park also features playgrounds, picnic tables and an archery range. A total of ten picnic shelters for groups and eight family shelters (Little Axe campground only) are available for reservation through the park office.

Both the Lake Thunderbird Nature Center and equestrian trails are located in the Clear Bay area. The trails, which are open Wednesday through Sunday, cover four miles and feature 12 obstacles. Negative Coggins papers are required, and no on-site stables are available. An array of hiking, mountain biking and nature trails are also available in Lake Thunderbird State Park. Deer archery and waterfowl hunting are available in designated areas during the applicable seasons.

***NOTICE*** Due to winterization at Lake Thunderbird State Park, the Little Sandy Tent Area, Post Oak RV Area, Rose Rock RV Area, Critter Alley Tent Area and Clear Bay Point Tent Area will be closed beginning November 1. The North Sentinel will be closed for camping and restrooms will be winterized, but will remain open for day use. The Post Oak boat ramp will be closed.

The Hog Creek Tent and RV Areas, Hickory Hill RV Area, Little Sandy 30 and 50-amp RV Area, Turkey Pass RV Area and Little Axe Campground will remain open. The East and West Sentinel Day Use Areas will remain open. The Hog Creek, Denver Corner, Turkey Pass, Little Axe, Fisheran’s Point, North Sentinel and South Dam boat ramps will remain open.

The hours listed above are the operating times for Lake Thunderbird's park office, located on the north side of the lake at 13101 Alameda Drive. The park office will be closed on holidays including Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day through the following weekend, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and President's Day.

The park is open for camping 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in designated camping areas.

Lake Thunderbird Nature Center's hours of operation are 9:30am-4:30pm Thursday through Saturday. Lake Thunderbird Nature Center is closed Sunday through Wednesday.

Equestrian trails are open Wednesday through Sunday from dawn until dusk.
Pricing
RV camping: $22-$30 per night.
Tent camping: $14-$19 per night.
Little Axe Campground: $5 day use fee charged per vehicle from 6am-11pm. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the pricing listed above, prices are subject to change without notice.
