From Rick on 09/14/14

We camp alot at Vector Camp Grounds and we have had to pick up trash and the lawn needs mowing go and dead trees are evert where and we pay dearly to stay at this park and we love to stay but what is the money being used for if the park is not being maintained. If you over where the the cabins are they are clean and bathroom are clean and if you use all the money for just that area that's wrong. I bet you make more from campus g sites than that area. We also need a host .people will quite coming if you don't clean up our park .

From Laura on 09/07/14

We went here last year for my birthday weekend and absolutely loved it! It's so peaceful and serene. The cabins were a nice suprise. They have a kitchenette with pots and pans, a large fridge, a microwave and a stove. I loved the bed and the decor. Everyone we met was super nice, We are going back this year and cannot wait!

From TravelOK.com Staff on 09/02/14

Why is it so hard to get a reply for certain dates on cabin rentals? I do not have long distance on my phone so I cannot call.

From ollie cain on 07/06/14

I was there 2 years ago for 4 days. I called the park services and complained about the campground and bathrooms being dirty. Trash that's been there for some time in the firepits -in aost every campsite. Drove through recently and nothing changed The park was empty on the 3rd of July. Maybe if they'd clean it up a bit they'd get more visitors

From TravelOK.com Staff on 06/30/14

From Brian Carroll on 03/18/14

Socked me on a trip from Minnesota with my truck camper. Ranger found us a great spot. Checked up next day to be sure we were fine, Found out we ran out of milk and brought us a half gallon the next day, A very kind older gentleman. This was one of the most hospital acts I ever encountered, people like this is what makes Oklahoma a great State, He absolutely refused to accept any payment for the milk. So it came out of his pocket . Ron the ranger hes awesome, Great crappie fishing april big ones.

From TravelOK.com Staff on 02/20/14

From Tom Pomelow on 12/02/13

this comment is for the Talimena State Park camp hosts. This was my second year camping at Talihina, and like last year, Harold and Mary made us feel like family. The cleanliness of the park is extraordinary for a state park. The facilities were always very clean. Harold was working before we were up at 7 a.m. He supplied wood for camp fires, unfroze water pipes, and spend time chatting about things to do around the park, hiking trails etc. Again, I can only say that our stay again this year was very enjoyable, in fact, we've already requested 2 rv pads for Nov. 2014. Can't wait to spend another 2 weeks with Harold and Mary. T. Pomelow

From TravelOK.com Staff on 08/05/13

From Bonnie Kerns on 08/02/13

Debra, I'm wanting to make reservations for camping for Labor Day to go to the Choctaw Festival. I can't remember where I stayed last time. There was a camp host that you had to pay when you went in and was on the water. I also know that the bathrooms had NO air conditioner or air of any kind & was nasty. It was on the water and we camped on an RV pad. Hopefully the bathrooms are cleaner, Do you know which place that I was at?

From TravelOK.com Staff on 07/23/13

Christian, the current rates for cabins range from $70-$110 plus tax. There is no pool available, but you are welcome to swim in the lake or visit the park's splash pad. If you'd like any more information, please call 918-655-7212. Best wishes and thank you for using TravelOK.com!

From Christian on 07/16/13

What are your rates for renting cabins? Also, are we allowed to swim in the lake? Is there a pool we can swim in?

From Andrea on 07/01/13

Just had a fantastic stay at Wister State Park. The cabin was adorable and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. There was a nice dining room table, flat screen t.v. with satellite, which was great after a day of fishing in the sun, the bathroom was spotless, had plenty of clean towels and a nice basket of soaps and shampoos. The bedroom was spacious with a very nice dresser. The couch folded out to a spare bed and there were extra sheets and pillows provided for it. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware. Outside was a bbq grill and fire pit with two nice adirondack chairs and a picnic table. There was even a stack of chopped firewood inside by the fireplace. My son and I got to fish, swim and play mini golf. There was a splashpark and playground for kids as well. The people in the office were very friendly and accomodating. The town of Poteau is only about 10 miles away and has a wal mart for buying groceries and fishing supplies, and the town of Wister has a couple of convenience stores for bait and snacks. Overall a great experience, this is a hidden gem in SW Oklahoma!! We'll be back!!!

From TravelOK.com Staff on 06/21/13

Patti, we're sorry you didn't have a good experience. As of last weekend, the lake was 13 feet above normal, but all campgrounds are currently open. Next time, we encourage you to visit checkmyoklake.com before you travel. Have a great day and thank you for using TravelOK.com.

From Patti Trumble on 06/21/13

Called to make sure lake was not flooded due to recent rains and was told all was ok but when we arrived 3 hours later the roads were barricaded with 5 ft of water over the road leading to RV camping. Per park ranger had been that way for days. Was very disappointed.

Enjoyed our one night camping at Lake Wister! It is a beautiful campground for Fall camping. It was relatively quite and serene. Finding the main office was difficult. OK parks needs better signage and maps for trails and attractions. Upgrading public bathrooms should be a priority!

From Helen Robbins on 06/23/11

Just went camping there and it was nice first camping trip I ever had and will always remember it was so relaxing and enjoyed my four nights there.

From Janine Bowlin on 04/10/11

Enjoyed our visit to Wards Landing RV Campground. Wish there was more information on the various RV campgrounds at Lake Wister - which are modern, semimodern - incl. Wards Landing, etc. Nature trail needs some cleanup. Trail hard to find in sections due to deep dead leaf cover and lack of maps at info station at start of trail. Difficult to tell where Lake Wister State Park main office is located.

From Colleen Goodwin on 05/15/10

Been there!! LOVE IT!!
