Little River National Wildlife Refuge

Established in 1987, the Little River National Wildlife Refuge is one of more than 530 refuges throughout the United States managed by the Fish and Wildlife Service. Visitors to this 15,000 acre refuge, tucked in the southeast corner of Oklahoma, step into an era before civilization. The refuge preserves the bottomland hardwood forests for migratory waterfowl. Resident species such as the white-tailed deer, raccoon, swamp rabbit, and American alligator call the refuge home. The refuge is an excellent destination for wildlife observation, photography, hunting, and fishing.
