From Don Hill on 09/24/2010

I was stationed at the Air Base in 1953-54. We reactivated the base. I was one of the first airmen to arrive. Weeds growing on the runway, control tower empty, no landing lights. Planes arrived from Memphis AFB to unload and had to leave before dark. I directed planed in with my little '52 Chevy. Met many wonderful local people mainly at the Methodist church. Many happy memories. Left to ship out to Korea. Those were the days. A/1C Donald L. Hill USAF
