Description
Oklahoma State Penitentiary is the states oldest maximum security facility. It houses the only museum about the history of prisons in Oklahoma. Numerous historical photos, equipment, and related items. Constructed in 1906 with the first inmates arriving in 1908. It houses death row, administrative segregation and approximately 1450 maximum security inmates. Hosts the only "behind the walls rodeo", the annual Oklahoma Prison Outlaw Rodeo.
