Riverside Resort

oh my gosh!! please read if you plan on staying at this place!!! i will never take my family there again and have already told my friends about how horrible this place is! the bathrooms stay filthy, while we were there the sinks were full of vomit the toilets were overflowing on the floor and they keep no soap in there either. the staff is unfriendly and confused because they will each tell you different times for the buses to leave and they will leave you! our bus died three times when we left after waiting an hour and a half to finally leave, we wasn't sure if we was even gonna make it. they don't supply cushions to sit on or trash bags for the float trip as every other canoe rental place does. when your trip is over, you have a tall mud bank to pull your canoes or rafts up on and then you have to carry all of your belongings up a very steep mud bank all the way to your campsite!!! we were kept up till four in the morning because of people being extremely loud and music booming when it was supposed to be turned off by eleven as that's what the security guy said when he came to our campsite and asked us to turn ours off at that time! the park does not over look the river unless you walk to edge of cliff and there is no where to swim or fish because there is no bank! i urge you to pick a different campground if you wanna enjoy yourself.

Before I made my plans to stay here, I asked for a brown cabin overlooking the river. Upon arrival I was stuck with a white cabin with a view of trees and caterpillars all over the floor. It was also very hot because they had not turned the AC on and it was 105 that day. It didn't cool down until late that night. When I took a shower the entire cabin smelled like sulphur. Apparently that happens when the water gets low. It seemed as though once they had my money, they weren't concerned with me having the stay I had requested. The plus was that there is a full size refrigerator. The down side, no TV or radio. Cabins 3, 4, 5, and 6 seemed like the best cabins to have. Those are waterfront and newer.

We have been going to Riverside for years. The staff are always so friendly and the cabins are very nice and very clean. There aren't many places that offer cabins right on the river so my family and I always enjoy coming here and having it right there to look at.

We love it there!! We go almost every year. It is a great place to take your family! We have stayed at other camps on the river, but Riverside is the most scenic part of the river...and you don't have to put up with so many drunk younger people. We will defiantly go back next year!!!!
