Description

Owner Debra Crabtree calls the fare she serves at the restaurant she runs with her son “typical American Southern cooking,” and the menu certainly reflects that description. Here, you’ll find tasty steaks, burgers, fish, sandwiches and pork chops, all prepared in a down-home fashion. The house specialty is the Southern Belle Chicken – a boneless chicken breast marinaded in a secret house dressing, then dipped in batter and fried, served with a special dipping sauce. It comes with a potato, bread and trip to the salad bar. For dessert, try a slice of homemade pie.

From Ginger Mullen on 02/15/2010

My sister saw this cafe on Discover Oklahoma last week. We took our mother and my nephew and niece on a road trip for Mama's birthday to try out the Southern Belle this past weekend. It is very cute and quaint. Just the kind of place we love. We had the Southern Belle chicken. Very tasty. I'm still trying to guess what is in the special sauce. I liked it dipped in ketchup as well. The prices were reasonable and the service was good. The only part that was not pleasant was the 70's/80's love balads that were playing very loudly. Too loud to have a conversation. The only other thing that was a bit of a dissapointment was the fried squash. It was store bought. The fried okra seemed fresh and tasted great. My niece always has grilled cheese and she was pleased. My nephew always has a cheesburger and he was pleased. I'm being silly now but, it would be so cute if the wait staff wore an apron that was like conductor overalls. They did wear conductor hats which was cute. Also, maybe some songs about trains instead of love balads. And, the staff should be super excited to be working at such a neat place. They should overdo how nice it is to be at the Southern Belle.
