Briggs Family Private Museum

Experience life as it was 100 years ago at the Briggs Family Private Museum in Cheyenne. Guests are invited to tour a six-room prairie house and half basement, which is furnished with furniture brought to Oklahoma from Indiana and Missouri. The museum also features a prairie half dugout, which is completely furnished with 1900 period furnishings; a summer cottage surrounded by English-style flower gardens; and an early style Western barn containing a blacksmith forge with tools, antique carpenter tools, one-horse drawn planters and 100 scales.

A two-story hotel that is over 100 years old is also located at the Briggs Family Private Museum, and the hotel features a collection of antique furniture, art and artifacts from various parts of the world. There are many collections located throughout the museum buildings and grounds including vintage washing machines, over 90 sadirons, several butter churns and a private collection of glassware and antiques. Bus tours are available.
