Walnut Creek State Park

horse riders not staying in park getting off trails and riding on private land signs need to be posted when riding stay on designated trails. also park roads closed off when i drove in to fish whats up with that. seems park is becoming a horse riding and hunting park not a public park during fall and winter months. park prices for camping to expensive for the public to. larry you need to keep horse riders on park trails.keep roads open in park for the public in the winter if you want no camping post a sign no camping but lets keep it open for visitors to have access to for fishing and for site seeing.

Brand new roads to this park, yahoo by far the best park on the north side of keystone lake!

@ Robert Elliott yes they are the same because Keystone State Park is the information office for Walnut Creek State Park. I did see on the bathroom wall 918-313-2909 for Larry.

Just a note to let you know how very good your park employees at Walnut Creek are doing. We camped in the horse camp, and were amazed at the improvements on the horse trails. Larry does a wonderful job. Don't loose him!! Our camp host, George, was very helpful, and came to check on us often. Both men are doing a great job. We will be back.

Stayed at the park for five days.. riding the trails were great. Told Larry about a tree that had fallen and blocked the trail, about an hour later it was cleared!!! He does a wonderful job! Will be back soon!

Rode in the park this weekend on the equestrian trails, and found them to be a place i would love to return to and ride in the future. The staff was great and the park was mowed and well kept. Thank you for having us, i enjoyed your park very much.

We stayed at Walnut Creek for the first time for the City Slickers ride this year. It was great! The site was quiet. The staff was friendly. The facilities clean and well kept and the horse trails were wonderful. We will be back as soon as we can.

Love it here! Used to go to Texhoma a lot, but instead have been coming here for the past 8 yrs. Never any issues with staff and it stays pretty quiet and friendly where we camp. Good times, good times!

DeAnn, when were you there? I thought everyone was very nice out there.

We loved it. We love the H site it was nice for my husband wheel chair and for him to get around. The sandy beaches was so nice. we have camp there for just about two weeks we didn't want to go home. The women was a little rude they do need to learn to deal with people and how to be a little friendlier. We never had any ticks be we didn't go on the trails. The Park Ranger was a very outstanding person very nice and friendly. I love the place and hopefully we get to go there next month. Have a great day.

Spent the weekend here and have to say it was one of the nicest places we have camped, other than it being super hot out. Will be bringing my family back again soon.

After i have been going there for the past 6 years and my wife's family has been going for alot longer i do not think we will be going back. The ticks where terriable. The ladies that take the money where some of the rudest people i have met. ANd on top of that it was $12 for a tent seemed a little high. It was not a very good weekend. I felt sorry for my wife as they tried to puch her around all weekend because they never would stop by when i was there. THe Park Ranger though was very east to get along with i will give him his credit. I think they need to learn to deal with people a little better. BUt i belive that it will be our last trip there. NOt worth the drive or money to camp there.

this was the worst camping trip our family ever went on!!! ticks everywhere!!!

use the park frequently, it is one of the nicest parks in Okla.

Mike, WCSP doesnt have bike trails. They have horse trails. Jon, I think you should give the park another chance there is no debris and the refrig is gone. The water is well water though. I just love this park.

it was o.k. but i would rather drive the distance to go somewhere else. the road there was tore up, trails for biking were over grown with brush. i could not find the park office to ask about the trails. overall i will not come back.

The beaches were sandy however they were still covered in debris from recent floods. We were able to make it down to the water and the beaches were good. The wood that washed up on the beach made it easy to find firewood though. There was also a full sized refrigerator on the beach. I do not know when the lake flooded, if it was real recent that would explain the debris, however if it has been some time I am disappointed that they have not attempted to clean up the area. We were not impressed with the facilities. They were dirty and did not always work well. Toilets did not flush and the whole bathroom flooded when someone took a shower. Also at our campsite the water was yellow. We let it run trying to clear up but it was never clear, I am glad we brought 8 gallons of water with us. We were also not real impressed with the camping sites, both RV and tent. There seemed to be a lack of trees. We did however find what we believe to the best RV camp site in Walnut Creek, # 79. It is between the bathrooms and the beach and had 5 trees and a lot of grassy area for the kids to play. Most other areas were without trees and so close to the other campsites there was no room for my 2 children to play. This particular camp site also seem to have wind the whole time we were there, which helped make the mid 90* temps bearable. We did see a deer twice and had a rather brave raccoon come into our camp site. The road to Walnut Creek was in horrible shape, but it appeared they may be trying to redo it in the near future. We did not have many other campers in the area and besides the yellow water and the horrible bathrooms we enjoyed our stay. I doubt I will come back to Keystone lake as we also looked at Keystone State park and we even less impressed with it. However, if I could guarantee that I could have site # 79 I might be willing to come back.. however they don't take reservations.

I love this park, the sandy beaches are great. If you enjoy nature this is an awesome place. The facilities are always clean. It's an over all great park to visit

I have stayed at this park for many years. On recent visits the deer are abundant! If you love nature this park is for sure the spot for it. Sandy beaches and safe with gates closing at night to keep out the riff raff. Did I also tell you its clean. Must see
