Description

Located atop the Winding Stair Mountain within the Ouachita National Forest, this campground offers spectacular views of southeast Oklahoma and the Winding Stair Mountain range. There are 23 campsites with table, firering, lantern pole, grill and paved parking spur. Potable water, warm showers and flush toilets are available spring to mid-summer, dependent on water availability.

From Heavener, take US Hwy 59 S 17 miles to US Hwy 259. Turn S onto US Hwy 259 for 5 miles to Hwy 1 (Talimena Scenic Drive). Turn W toward Talihina on Hwy 1 and continue for 1 mile.
