I hired Ethan as a fishing guide for my two sons,12 and 9 and a friend, also 12, this labor day weekend. We had a great time! Ethan put all three of the boys on fish - each one of them caught at least ten to fourteen trout. He took us to three different parts of the river, and supplied all rods, bait and lure. Now, three pre-teen beginning fishermen is a bit hard for any guide to handle, so if you are going with three best is probably one adult and two kids or two or three adults. But apart from that, it was perfect, and a good deal. He was patient and funny as can be and the kids loved fishing with him! Go for it!

I met Ethan on the Spillway Creek this past week and although we were not paying customers, he was more than willing to share his knowledge and advise on where to fish and what to use. Guides make their living doing that and guides I've met in the past are not usually willing to give this information away for free, and I wouldn't expect them to. But Ethan was more than generous with his advise. On two seperate occasions, he put us in the right place and told us the right flies to use. In fact one day, he even gave me two flies to use. This turned out to be one of the best trips to the Mountain Fork we've ever had. And he didn't have to do any of it. He volunteered it. The point is, if he will do this for people he doesn't even know and aren't paying him a dime, what's he going to do for a paying customer! And on top of that he's one of the friendliest people I've ever met on the river. I would definitely reccomend Ethan as a guide if you want to have a great fishing experience.
