NSRA Southwest Street Rod Nationals Plus
What: 28th Annual NSRA Southwest Street Rod Nationals Plus
Oklahoma’s largest automotive event and gathering of specialty automobiles, 30 years and older.
Where: Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
When: Friday - April 15th, Saturday - April 16 and Sunday – April 17, 2011
FEATURING: More than 1900, 30 years and older, specialty automobiles, street rods, muscle cars, antiques, customs and restored cars from all over the Southwest and other areas of the United States and Canada. A large percentage of the cars have updated drive trains, modern chassis’s, leather interiors, air conditioning and all the “creature comforts” of a new automobile.
SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS: The specialty automobiles in attendance have a worth from $10,000 to in excess of $60,000 each. This averages out to $35,000 which is a conservative estimate of their worth. The total value of the 1900 cars in attendance at the Oklahoma Fairgrounds will be a minimum of $65 million dollars.
ACTIVITIES: All of the cars will be on display for public viewing throughout the day. There are activities for the car owners, including the NSRA Safety Program. This program is a voluntary check of the owner’s vehicle for all aspects of safety. The safety inspectors volunteer all of their time. There are also adult and children’s games
There will be an automotive parade on Friday through downtown Oklahoma City starting at 12 noon from the fairpark. Also, on Friday at 1:00 P.M. there will a Ladies Tea.
On Saturday, there is the “Streets of Rods” area where cars are picked for special automobile awards.
This year’s “Streets” include a return of:
“29 & Below” sponsored by Vintage Air of San Antonio, Texas. This street is for all street rods owned and registered by participants 29 years of age or under. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, a dash plaque and there will be a random drawing for two Super Prizes.
The following are the new “Streets” for 2011:
“Hi-boy Highway” sponsored by Street and Performance of Mena, Arkansas. This street welcomes all makes of cars that are considered fenderless hi-boys.
“Bowtie Boulevard” sponsored by Pete’s Fabrications of Bowling Green, Kentucky. All models and years of Chevrolet cars are welcome to participate in this street.
“Bucket Brigade” sponsored by Watson’s Street Works of Bozrah, Connecticut who invite all owners of any type and make of 1927 and below, bucket type of rod.
“Fabulous Fifties” sponsored by Fatman Fabrications of Charlotte, North Carolina, will feature all cars that are from 1950 to 1959 year of manufacture.
SUPERPRIZES: Throughout the event, participants are eligible for the “Super Prize Drawing” which is a program where NSRA gives away in excess of $83,000.00 worth of merchandise to registered participants.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION: On Sunday, April 17th, a “Circle of Winners” will be featured. Cars chosen for special recognition will be on display next to the band shell from 10:00 AM prior to receiving their award at the 2:00 P.M. awards ceremony.
“THE NSRA SUNDAY SWEEP$TAKE$”. Event participants have a chance to win one of three $3,000.00 checks to be paid to the lucky winners in the form of a check from the National Street Rod Association. You must be present to win and have your “Sunday Only Ticket” deposited in the ticket drum.
COMMERCIAL EXHIBITS: There will be over 75 manufacturers of automotive specialty equipment located in the “Cox Pavilion” building. All of the products shown by the exhibitors will be for sale to participants and spectators. The commercial exhibits will be open for all three days of the event.
SWAP MEET: The Swap Meet is open for all three days of the event selling vintage cars and car parts to participants as well as spectators.
WOMEN’S WORLD: The Arts and Crafts part of the event is also open all three days of the event. The items on display for purchase are all available to participants as well as spectators. The Women’s World is located in the Centennial building.

Friday, April 15th, 8:30 AM to 5:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16th, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P. M. and. Sunday, April 17th, 8:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
ADMISSIONS: Adults - $14, Children 6 to 12 - $5 and Children 5 and under - free when accompanied by an adult. Discounted tickets are priced at $12.00 for seniors (60 years of age and older), military personnel and UPS employees with proper Identification. Also, priced at $12.00 are discounted tickets for NSRA members with a current membership card (Only one discount ticket per ID for the three categories). Tickets for the event are on sale ONLY at the fairgrounds.
