OKLAHOMA CITY – Science Museum Oklahoma is excited to announce their newest exhibit, Building Buddies, presented by the Oklahoma Museum Network funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. Building Buddies will be open to Science Museum Oklahoma guests starting December 1st, 2011.

“We are excited to present such an active, hands-on experience designed specifically for our young visitors. Children love to jump in and get involved in the action,” said Sherry Marshall, Director of Oklahoma Museum Network. “Building Buddies gives them the perfect opportunity to go all out and immerse themselves in the activities of the construction site. Jobs throughout the whimsical houses and piles of bricks promote critical thinking skills through imaginative play and cooperation.”

Building Buddies is an interactive village that invites young children to play and explore while helping their buddies improve the neighborhood.  The different characters, “buddies”, need help fixing up their houses. This creative construction site features hands-on stations that encourage children to construct, build, decorate, paint, tile and more!

“Science Museum Oklahoma is thrilled to offer this exciting interactive exhibit,” said Melody Muniz, Guest Relations Manager. “Our guests of all ages truly enjoy being able to build and create while discovering the excitement in science, making Building Buddies a perfect exhibit for us.”

Building Buddies is part of the Oklahoma Museum Network’s traveling exhibit series and will be on display at Science Museum Oklahoma for a limited time. So, grab your hat and tie on your tool belt – the building buddies need your help!
