"Try Ham Radio Day," sponsored by Edmond Amateur Radio Society, will be held
this Saturday September 10, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The event is free
and will be held at Edmond North High School, in the south parking lot at

Club members will set up and operate a ham radio station. The public is
invited to stop in and check out ham radio and we'll put them on the air.
All is free without any obligations.
Club members will be on hand operating the radio making contacts across the
country and the world, others will be available to explain how operations
are conducted and get visitors up to speed with a brief introduction to ham
radio and then put them on the air.
For those who find ham radio interesting, the Edmond Amateur Radio Society
has scheduled entry level license (Technician) class beginning September
20th at 6:30 p.m. at the EARS station, Main and Littler in downtown Edmond.
Cost for the class is $40 which includes text and test (a $40 value).
