Experience Christmas in the Cherokee Outlet as it was over 100 years ago with sights, smells and sounds of the holiday season at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center in Enid. Christmas in the Village is 1-3 pm Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 at the center’s outdoor exhibit area, Humphrey Heritage Village. Make a Christmas ornament with the help of the schoolmarm at Turkey Creek School, step into the last remaining U.S. Land Office from the 1893 Land Run and write a letter to Santa using a nib pen just like one used by children of that time period. Enjoy carolers on the village green and concerts in the historic church. Admission is $3 for adults, children 12 and under are admitted free. Call 580-237-1907 for more information.
Celtic Thunder blends its unique Gaelic sound with Christmas sounds of the season on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 pm at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center in Enid. Celtic Thunder has a worldwide following, and Enid is the only Oklahoma venue on their2011 Heritage/Christmas Tour. The songs will consist of fan favorites from each release as well as Celtic Thunder’s heart-warming interpretations of holiday favorites. Tickets are $50, $40 and $30 and are available by calling the Chisholm Trail Expo Center at 580-237-0238.
