Fort Reno Ghost Tours Begin

Historic Fort Reno presents the “Ghosts of Fort Reno” 2011 Tours. By lantern light visitors will tour the historic post just west of El Reno, Oklahoma. Located thirty minutes west of Oklahoma City, the old Indian Wars fort was the location of many events instrumental in the establishment of Oklahoma.

 

Participants will hear tales and urban legends of haunted buildings, villainous murders, lost treasure and more. The event includes a tour of the restored Officer’s Quarters, the Chapel built by German P.O.W.s during WWII, and trip to the Fort Reno Post Cemetery. Tour includes presentation by one of several paranormal research teams who have done ghost investigations at the fort in the past.

 

The tour starts at the Fort Reno Visitor Center (1 1/2 miles north of Exit 119 off of I-40) at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011. The cost is $8 for Adults and $7 for Seniors 60 and up, and $5 for Children ages 5 to 12. Proceeds from these exciting tours will go to funds for preservation and restoration of the fort’s numerous historic buildings. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED so please call in advance. (405) 262-3987.
