NORMAN, OKLA. – Frontier Country Marketing Association as well as several of its members were honored with RedBud Awards including Tourism Organization of the Year Oct. 18 during the Governor’s Conference on Tourism. Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department Executive Director Hardy Watkins presented the prestigious awards to the tourism industry at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Norman.

 

'We are so pleased to be honored with the RedBud Award of Tourism Organization of the Year,' said Sherri Rogers, Executive Director of Frontier Country Marketing Association. 'The support of our membership is overwhelming and we are lucky to have members that are doing such wonderful things to make Central Oklahoma Frontier Country a great place to live and visit!”

 

The 2010 RedBud Awards included top honors in 16 categories including Best Brochure or Publication, Best Overall Marketing Campaign, Best Partnership, Outstanding New Attraction, Best Website and Tourism Organization of the Year. Entries were evaluated by out-of-state judges based on criteria including customer service, marketing effectiveness, media relations, variety of audiences reached, value and overall creativity.

 

Frontier Country Marketing Association along with its members took home 8 of the 32 RedBud and Merit Awards. Frontier Country’s 2010 RedBud Award winners are:
