By Tourism Industry Partner
EVENT: Girlfriend Getaway – a benefit for Tulsa DVIS/Call Rape
Date: Saturday, May 7, 11 am-5 pm
Location: Stone Bluff Cellars Winery, 24145 E 191st St. So., Haskell, OK 74436
Every woman knows that a day with your friends is refreshment for your soul – and Stone Bluff Cellars winery near Haskell is hosting a Girlfriend Getaway on Saturday, May 7, that will refresh you and benefit Tulsa DVIS/Call Rape, winery spokesman, Dee Selby said.
The Girlfriend Getaway begins at 11 am and runs through 5 pm. Lunch will be available from 11 am to 3 pm and reservations should be made at firstname.lastname@example.org, Selby said. The winery will set up a “festival style” wine tasting area and guests will receive a souvenir wine glass with their tasting kit purchase. Portions of all proceeds will go to DVIS/Call Rape, she said. Several afternoon tours are scheduled for those who wish to learn more about the winery and the wine making process.
“We’ve also invited several vendors and service providers of special interest to women to join us for this Girlfriend Getaway, and all have agreed to donate a portion of tips or sales proceeds to DVIS,” Selby said. Representatives from Back to Basics Massage, Toes on the Go, Arbonne, Mary Kay, Blue Turtle Soap Company, Hilltop Honey, and Huktiana’s Home will be at the event.
A lunchtime fashion show will feature styles from Merle Norman of Bixby. Models will compete for cash “votes” for favorite styles. The top model wins a gift certificate from the winery for their earnings for DVIS, Selby said.
The Girlfriend Getaway is open to women and men, Selby said. Anyone who attends this event is encouraged to bring their donations of women’s and children’s clothes, diapers, small appliances, etc., to the event. Representatives of DVIS will be on hand to take donations, she said.
