Green Earth Yoga Retreat Accepting Reservations
By Tourism Industry Partner
Yoga beginners and seasoned practitioners will join together for a time of renewal and networking at the first annual Green Earth Yoga Retreat on June 10-12. Hosted by Om Yoga & Pilates Studio, the event will be held at beautiful Camp McFadden, just eight miles east of Ponca City in north central Oklahoma.
A variety of yoga sessions are planned, including yoga for your body type, sunrise yoga and teaching yoga to children. Other offerings include meditation, aromatherapy, nurturing organic meals, social events including a wine tasting, African drumming circle and moonlight meditation under the stars.
“Yoga retreats are not available in this area,” said Kay Smith, owner of Om Yoga & Pilates Studio in Ponca City, Okla. “I wanted to offer an event that did not require a lot of travel time or expense for those attending.”
“This retreat is dedicated to supporting, educating and building the yoga community,” she said. “There is something for everyone, including those new to yoga, those who teach yoga, and even those who are just interested in learning about yoga.”
It all will happen in a lovely outdoor setting overlooking Kaw Lake. Participants may reserve a bunk in one of the six group cabins. The area also offers space for tents or campers (no RVs, please), a learning center, dining lodge and hiking trails. For those who want more formal lodging, area hotels are a 15-minute drive from the retreat site.
A full-event pass for the retreat is $200 and includes all meals, social events and classes. Register by May 1 for the early bird discount of $180. Also available are other registration packages, such as one day only or evening socials with meals. A portion of proceeds from the retreat will be donated to benefit the nonprofit camp.
