Jet Ski Races Set on Kaw Lake

KAW LAKE, OK (July 4, 2011) It’s X-Treme on water and it’s all happening at Kaw Lake. It’s the X-Treme Watercross Tour (jet ski races) this Saturday and Sunday July 9 and 10 at Pioneer Beach on Kaw Lake.
Rounds 7 and 8 of the Jetpilot Best of the West X-treme Watercross Finals will be held on beautiful Kaw Lake in Kaw City, OK. The race will be held at Pioneer Beach.
Sunday is a double points and a huge thanks to National Association of Health Professionals there will be double payouts! Awards will be given out to all Junior and Beginner Classes. All other class awards will be given out if there is a minimum on the line. These are general guide lines for awards and could change from race to race.
Sponsored by Ponca City Kawasaki, the City of Kaw City and the Kaw Lake Association, the races will take place each day from 10 am-4 pm. The public is invited to come view the races. Admission to watch the races is $5 per car.
“The X-treme Watercross Tour is sanctioned by IJSBA,” said Terry Hiebert, race promoter. “We will be following their rule book for all classes except Outlaw Classes. You will need to be a member of the IJSBA to race in the 2011 X-treme Watercross.”
The final race of the season will be the one at Kaw Lake this weekend. Points will be given to the top finishers and the total points tabulated to name the tour champion in each class. The July 10 race will be double point’s rounds. The racers top seven finishes will be tabulated to name the tour champion in each class.
“We will be conducting our races a little different this year. We will have a Main Event Class for each of the watercraft categories (Ski, Runabout, Sport,). With your paid entry you will automatically be entered in this class. It is open to all racers except Juniors, “ said Hiebert. “You must race in both heat races for your class to compete in the Main Event Class. Starting position for the Main Event Class will be posted at each race. The Main Event Class will be the only payout class. Check the website www.nautiwaterracing.com before each race to see payout amounts.
